LaMoure Farm Postcard
Since my visit with my cousin Chuck last month, I’ve been looking at old photo postcards. In the vintage collecting realm, these glimpses into the past are known as real photo postcards, PRRCs.
Kodak first offered postcard printing in 1907. It was an economical way to share images with loved ones.

May 3, 1915
to: J.C. Gentzkow, Minneiska, Minn.
Dear father and all -:
How are you all, we are fine. We are busy as busy can be, don’t know what to tackle first, hoping to hear from you soon
Deciphering the Details
First, we assume that it is from Edward F. Gentzkow (1881-1948) because it is addressed to “dear father,” Julius “J.C.” Gentzkow.
In May of 1915, Julius was married to his second wife. She had a son, Rodney, that because J.C.’s stepson/adopted son. Thereby defining the “and all” portion of the greeting.
Carrie Hesse and Ed Gentzkow had 4 small children and a farm to operate in 1915. So, they did have a very busy life.
